Where’s Mimi?
I’ve gotten one comment asking this and several friends have tried to politely ask me if Mimi is ever coming back. The answer to that is yes, soon I think. She’s doing a lot of work up in California to straighten out some of our affairs. We now know that we will never be able to import one of our macaws and we don’t want to separate the two. So, she has found a wonderful home for them and she is moving them this week. She’s gone through all the stuff we had stored up there, shipped some, sold some, gave away some and probably just threw some away. She’s found another place for the guy who has been taking care of our birds and she is moving him this weekend. She is then going to paint and do some repairs on the duplex and get it ready for a family friend who is moving in with her son. Let’s see, I think she had some other stuff to do as well? Anyway, she’s gotten a lot done but she can’t get it all finished before xmas so she probably won’t be back until January… we’ll see.
She sent me this picture to prove how cold she is up in Palm Springs, California. It cracks me up because it is a winter destination for a lot of snowbirds, I can’t even imagine how cold their homes must be if they go there to get warm.

Oh joy of joy’s, the rain has returned as well. I so love to load a U-Haul in the rain …. Don’t you?
Can you believe thats FIVE layers. I must admit the hoody is a vest, but still it’s a layer!
Hugs from Nanook of the desert.
Where in the world IS Mimi? Ok, you told us. I don’t envy her, and I know I’ll be doing much of what she’s doing within the next year. I don’t envy her, and you can be sure I will complain loud and clear in my blog when I have to sort through my ’stuff’.
Sorry about the macaws, but at least they’ll have another good home. Good luck with it all!
That expression is a classic. Thanks for the Mimi update, Husband and I miss her.
regards,
Theresa
I am so glad Mimi is just taking care of some business that doesn’t involve sick friends and relatives, if you know what I mean. Judy
Sometimes in TX we go look at our storage unit. It looks overwhelming so we close the door and say we don’t have time this trip to do anything with the stuff. Would Mimi be willing to take on our “stuff” as well. She could probably have a profitable business. LOL
Mimsy! You look absolutely SMASHING darling!
Okay, so it is cold. Cold enough for me to be wearing pjs around the house and to flee to the kitchen to cook, but not so cold to prevent me from making ice cream.
Let me just say, compared to Merida, it’s freezing, particularly when someome like Mimi with next to no padding (unlike me, very well padded) can get rather chilly and need that ton of clothing that she’s wearing in the pic. Compared to NY, it’s shorts-wearing weather.
You are wearing PJ’s??? Is this the same guy who used to go camping in the snow for fun? Heh! If you are cold then she must really be miserable. I’ll be nicer.
