I have juicer envy now as well. Will have to beg Kathy to bring me a green one next year. Have you tried to squish a pomegranate with that puppy? I am so hooked on pom juice right now and would love to have fresh.

Hey guys - we miss you so! Love the juicer, love the pond, love your place, hate the decision that you're not coming north, but love the fact that you used the rip tide analogy. I haven't kept up with your blog - but thought you sold the LD. No?

We're gonna come down winter 2011. See you then!

How do you put text on pics with your iPhone?

hugs, Sarah and Pete

I love this juicer. We went on a trek downtown to the kitchen store a couple of Saturdays ago to get one. I couldn't force myself to get it at the time because of the aluminum. I think we will be buying one anyway when the electric job we bought gives it up - soon I am sure. Another great thing about Merída - the oranges, limons and grapefruit for juicing.

Ooohh...a Mexican restaurant supply store is a definite must do on my trip in March. I'm weird but kitchen shops are high on my list of tourist attractions everywhere I go. I think my souvenir suitcase is going to need an extra ticket.

are there people in the world who actually purchase juice already made? It has been so very very long...

Pike asked for an electric juicer (and got one) for his birthday. We make grapefruit, orange and limonada daily. But I've got serious juicer envy now. :)

I see a trip in the near future. I'm just worried about Kilo and Cuba...

Rummy, that sounds like a seriously good margarita recipe. I like the mango chipotle on the rim idea.

Joanne, there are 2 stores on the corner of 64 y 65, the other 2 corners are a Pemex and a convenient parking lot. One of the stores is dusty, dirty and full of all sorts of interesting finds. It's on the corner closer to the central square. It also has some small plants and fish at the entrance, it's worth poking around in. I bought all my plates and now bowls there. When I took them home and washed them I discovered that a couple had permanent stains so I took them back and they happily replaced them. I like these people.

The other is much cleaner and organized. The clean one has an upstairs which I didn't discover the first couple times I was there. The juicers are upstairs along with very good deals on blenders and other appliances. I'm now lusting after the hand meat grinder.

Oooohhhhhhhhhh, I am experiencing acute juicer envy. I have a very inferior juicer that I am currently grinding into replacement state with this wonderful new lemon margarita recipe I've been sucking back every night after work. In case you like margarita recipes, try this: 1 1/2 oz each of Jose Cuervo Tequila/Grand Marnier blend and thin simple syrup, 3 oz lemon juice. Rim a class with a blend of coarse salt, coarse sugar and Club House Mango Chipotle dry mix, pour liquid in, over crushed ice. So tart/sweet/icy refreshing. Next trip to the Yucatan, instead of a sink or a Ticul Chac god, I think I'll get a No. 3 tambien!
