Vote México for the Amazing Race
The Amazing Race is taking votes on which Latin American country to hold the next race. It is between Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and México. It would be a huge boost to Mexican tourism to have the race here, I think México deserves it. Right now, we are in last place with Colombia in the lead. Please go and vote for México, it would be an incredible location for the race.
The site is in Spanish but it is easy to find the voting location, in the right column under the heading that says Encuesta.
That would be fantastic, I voted last week! I LOVE the Amazing Race, it’s one of my favourite shows. Too bad we get it two years or so after it airs in the states, I just have to avoid looking up the winners online.
Colombia? I can see it now…they issue AK47s as standard equipment for the entrants…in one segment they have to outrace the kidnappers who will hold them for ransom and delay their race. Okay, maybe I have read too much bad press about Colombia…Mexico got my vote.
I voted for Mexico. Maybe we can field a team? LOL…just kidding, I’d never make it.
regards,
Theresa
So who’s stuffing the ballot box for Columbia? That is one heck of a lead. I put my vote in for Mexico.
Did my thing for Mexico … but didn’t see anywhere what those percentages represented in terms of numbers of actual votes (to know what we’re up against in our own ballot box stuffing campaign).
Like the new layout Amiga. Off topic – but I felt it needed to be said.
Like Calypso, my comment is off topic, but I just discovered you had moved the blog. Great format. And, as always, great content.
I started thinking about you, Jonna, when Jiggs made a dash at some stray animal that darted through the fence tonight. What amazed me is that he has recovered enough to make a short burst run. I could hear you lecturing me about having him on a lead. I thought he was too imobile to need one. I will happily put him back on the leash.
I too was wondering how many votes there are and who is stuffing the ballot for Colombia. I actually think Colombia would be interesting, it’s on my list of places I’d like to go. They have cleaned up the violence, there are complaints about the process but it seems to be working. I think México has a more diverse topography though and that it would be a fascinating show.
Thanks guys, for the compliments on the new look. It’s in process, I just let the process rest for awhile. I’m going to start working on it again when I get back to the city and my fast connection.
Steve, I wouldn’t lecture you but I would worry about Jiggs. Sometimes us old folks think we can do more than we can and the payback is fierce. It’s good to know he still has the will and the interest though. Have you thought about getting him a haircut? I think he’d be cooler. Theresa’s Mr Dog seems to feel much better and more active after his GI cut.
Jonna — I am trying to find someone who will give him a cut. Apparently, there was one dog dreser in town, who moved away. Someone’s boy friend just bought a pair of clippers, but he has never trimmed dogs — or people. I am going to check with one of the disappearing vets — if I can find him. I am learning patience.
By the way, I voted for Mexico. Considering the potential voter pool (remember the favorite flag poll?), I am surprised that Mexico has not stuffed the box.
Voted for Mexico 6 times…brought it up from 6 to 7. My fingers are tired now, will vote more tomorrow.
Jonna, I worked in Colombia (Medellin, in fact) in the 1990s when Escobar was still killing for sport and blowing up transmission towers, which messed up my exporters’ ability to ship. It was before the government started the cartel cleanup … at which time things got much worse before they got better. It is a gorgeous country too, with diverse terrain, just more compact than Mexico. But as a (past and) future resident of Mexico, of course it got my vote. Now, as they say, I’ll “Vote Mexico and vote often!”
I voted for Mexico about 15 times. I was going to keep voting until I saw a change in the percentage but gave up for now. I will go back again though.
I have been applying the old Chicago adage of “Vote early and often”. I think the Mexico #’s will move to number 1 today. BTW I love your site and faithful reporting.
